IDEA LAB — BUILD REAL THINGS START HERE Open index.html for Start Today: a five-stage maker quest, about 45–75 minutes at your own pace. Change an idea and run the app within the first few minutes, improve a prompt, test predictions, repair a repeated-click bug, then edit real source data and export a runnable app. Full lessons remain in course.html. Eight short videos include permanent English captions and exact written transcripts. Use a laptop or desktop for easier source editing and saving. Pause for the practical missions, and keep your actual project files and test logs. WHAT YOU CAN BUILD Lesson 1 uses guided, prepared examples. It is not a live AI chat. Lessons 2–4 teach real AI-assisted app building, source edits, feature work and debugging. The course itself does not generate code with AI. Use only your own age-eligible, guardian-approved account in an external tool. An unavailable account or feature means the real-AI milestone stays pending; supplied-source practice is labeled separately. No public project, paid upgrade or shared adult login is needed to complete the tasks. YOUR DATA AND PRIVACY The course has no sign-up, learner database, progress uploads or app analytics. Its scripts keep lesson checks and notes only in this browser when storage is available. Start Today offers Player 1 and Player 2 save slots, with no names or accounts. These slots isolate the new quest only. The introductory workshop and full course have separate shared-browser records; use separate browser profiles if needed. If storage is blocked, the course uses temporary tab memory and displays a warning. There is no cross-device sync or teacher/admin results portal. Do not enter names, school details, contact information, passwords, API keys or other private information. Shared-device users should reset local progress after saving work. The website host may process ordinary technical request logs to deliver the site; that is separate from this course's browser-local records. External reference links and AI tools have their own privacy, eligibility and account terms. KEEPING WORK Save HTML project copies and test logs to your own device. Start Today can also save/restore a JSON mission backup, plus a project passport containing your brief, source change and test evidence. Keep the passport local: it includes your notes. Intro progress, practical lesson progress and Code Desk memory are separate. Reset does not erase downloaded files. Code Desk is a non-executing source editor: paste/open source, edit, keep versions, restore and export HTML or a bounded JSON backup. Its drafts disappear when the tab closes or reloads unless backed up. It does not run source or certify that code is safe. BEFORE RUNNING CODE Use the lesson's approved execution route. A guardian/instructor should review new AI-generated or imported code before its first run. Opening exported HTML runs its code outside Code Desk, without a sandbox. Keep a working earlier version and test changes. Check the intended browser, downloads, video and actual account access before independent learning. A documented workflow is not proof that a particular account has a feature. ACCESSIBILITY AND SUPPORT Videos can be paused and replayed. Captions are permanent; exact transcripts and full reading guides provide a fallback. If a video or download fails, use the written lesson and ask a trusted adult to help with the device. Unexpected login, upgrade, permission or payment requests are a reason to pause that step. COMPANION AND CREDITS Idea-Lab-Companion.pdf is the deeper four-session companion, not a requirement to finish the shorter Start Today quest. The same-project AI brief at the finish leads into Lesson 2 without claiming any account setup or AI task is complete. credits.html describes the locally generated Kokoro Heart AI narration and official project/license references. No voice was cloned for this course; no model is installed on the learner's device. Platform names do not imply endorsement.
